What is Ownfilm?
Your own movie and TV server. Run it on a Mac, Windows PC or NAS and watch your library on iPhone, iPad and in the browser.
Where are my files stored?
On your own server. Ownfilm never uploads your library to us.
Do I need a NAS?
No. Any Mac or Windows computer that stays on works. A NAS is a great fit if you have one.
I can't connect to my server.
Make sure the server is running and that your phone is on the same network. Then check the server address in Settings. For use away from home you need Plus.
Which plan do I need?
Free covers watching at home. Plus adds watching from anywhere, 4K, and offline downloads. Family adds up to 8 users and multiple simultaneous streams. See the pricing section on the home page.
What happens if I stop paying?
Your library and files stay yours. You go back to Free: watching at home keeps working and the paid extras switch off.
Can my family use it?
Yes. Each person gets their own profile and watch progress. Family supports up to 8 users.
How do I cancel or get a refund?
Cancel from your order email or your payment provider's page. Refund questions: write to us and include your order email.
I lost my licence key.
Email us from the address you bought with and we will resend it.
